Scenome's selection is modal, which means there is a specific mode to which the software must be set before you can select anything on the worksheet. For example, you must tell the software you wish to pick faces, edges, vertices, or lights.
A mode in Scenome affects the worksheet only. All other interface elements are unaffected by the active mode. You can always select nodes in the hierarchy regardless of the active mode, and you can always edit properties in the property editor.
The worksheet looks like this:
By default, select mode is active when the software starts. However, if you open and close files, Scenome remembers the current mode.
This displays the select command menu.
When select mode is active and nothing is selected, a right click on the worksheet displays the select command menu.
This tells the software you wish to select lights.
The cursor looks like a wand. This is the select mode cursor. Notice the tiny tail on the lower right of the cursor.
When select mode is active, the software uses this cursor to indicate the mode. This is a useful visual cue.
Notice how the cursor tail enlarges? This means the software has found something to select.
The light turns red, indicating selection.
This displays the light command menu, which contains commands for modifying lights.
NOTE: When select mode is active, and the select buffer contains at least one item, a right click displays the appropriate command menu for the selection. If you have two unrelated items selected, such as a light and a face, the software displays the generic command menu.
The lighting changes, becoming "flatter".
